Privacy, consent and platform data
How the Artemedy Creator Marketplace intends to handle creator data, and Instagram data in particular. Creators grant access; Artemedy uses it only for what they agreed to.
This page describes the intended live product
In short
- Creators choose whether to connect an Instagram professional account. It is optional, and they can disconnect at any time.
- Artemedy asks Instagram only for profile basics and the creator’s own audience insights. It does not read or send direct messages and never posts.
- Connected data is used to match creators to campaigns and to show an audience summary to brands the creator has said yes to.
- No creator is added to a campaign without agreeing to be considered, and agreeing is not acceptance of final terms.
- Artemedy does not scrape platforms, does not bypass access controls, and does not sell data.
Instagram integration
Creators with an Instagram professional account (Business or Creator) will be able to connect it through Instagram’s own login screen. Instagram decides which accounts can connect; personal accounts cannot. Artemedy never sees the creator’s password and receives an access token only after the creator approves.
| Permission | What it allows | Requested |
|---|---|---|
Profile basicsinstagram_business_basic | Username, account type, profile photo, follower and media counts, and your own recent posts, so brands you choose to work with see an accurate profile. | Yes |
Audience insights for your accountinstagram_business_manage_insights | Your audience age ranges, top cities and countries, and reach, so matching uses your real audience instead of an estimate. | Yes |
Direct messagesinstagram_business_manage_messages | Not requested. Artemedy does not read or send Instagram DMs; invitations go by email. | No |
Publishinginstagram_business_content_publish | Not requested. Artemedy never posts on your behalf. | No |
Permission names follow Meta’s Instagram API with Instagram Login and will be re-checked against Meta’s documentation before submission. Access depends on Meta App Review; nothing here assumes approval.
Three separate choices
The product keeps these apart, so agreeing to one never implies another.
1. Connecting an account
Lets Artemedy read the creator’s profile basics and audience insights. It does not sign them up for any campaign.
2. Saying yes to a campaign
Consent to be considered for one campaign. Recorded per campaign, with a date. Declining is final for that campaign.
3. Accepting final terms
Deliverables, fee and dates, reviewed and accepted separately. The creator can ask for changes instead.
How data is used
- Matching
- Audience age, location and engagement feed the fit score. Creator-shared data replaces estimates, which count for less.
- Brand view
- Brands see an audience summary only for creators who said yes to their campaign.
- Never
- Sold, used for advertising profiles, or shared outside the campaigns a creator agreed to. (Proposed policy.)
- Storage
- Server-side, encrypted, with access tokens never sent to the browser. (Planned; this prototype has no server.)
Where creators come from
- Creators who join Artemedy and complete a profile.
- Creators who connect their own accounts.
- Public business and creator profiles looked up by a known username through approved platform APIs, where Meta grants that access.
- Licensed creator-data providers whose terms allow this use.
Artemedy does not scrape, does not search platforms in ways their APIs do not offer, and does not read private analytics of accounts that have not connected. The Instagram API does not provide open-ended search of all creators, and the product is not designed as if it did.
How creators are contacted
Artemedy drafts invitations; a person at the brand edits and approves each one; it is then sent by email through a messaging provider. Artemedy does not send unsolicited Instagram direct messages. Instagram’s messaging API is for replying to people who contact a business first, and is not used for outreach.
Disconnecting and deletion
- Disconnect any time in Artemedy, or remove Artemedy in Instagram’s settings.
- On disconnection Artemedy revokes its token and deletes data received from Instagram, proposed within 30 days.
- Creators and brands can ask for their data to be deleted by writing to support@artemedy.com.
- Meta’s data deletion callback will be implemented on the server before launch.
Integration status
| Integration | Status | In this prototype | In the live product |
|---|---|---|---|
| Meta / Instagram API | Needs Meta review | Connection screens are simulated. No request is made to Meta. | Creators connect their own professional account through Instagram Login after Meta App Review. |
| YouTube Data API | Planned | Channel figures are sample values. | Creators connect a channel with Google sign-in to share channel statistics. |
| TikTok APIs | Planned | Sample values only. | Subject to TikTok granting API access. TikTok is unavailable in India. |
| Creator discovery sources | Simulated | Discovery searches 24 sample profiles in your browser. | Opted-in creators, creator-authorised accounts and licensed data providers. No scraping. |
| AI matching service | Simulated | A documented, deterministic weighted model runs in the browser. | A server-side service that keeps the same explainable factors. |
| Email and messaging provider | Planned | Invitations are queued and delivered inside the demo only. | Approved invitations are emailed through a transactional email provider. |
| Payment provider | Planned | Fees are calculated, never charged. No funds are held. | A licensed provider collects from brands and pays creators. |
| Backend and database | Planned | State lives in this browser (localStorage) and can be reset. | Accounts, consent records, audit history and deletion requests stored server-side. |
What this prototype does
- Shows 24 fictional creators with AI-generated portraits and illustrative metrics.
- Runs discovery and matching on that sample set, in your browser.
- Simulates the Instagram connection, with clear labels. No request is made to Meta and nothing is fetched.
- Queues and delivers invitations inside the demo only. No email or message is sent.
- Calculates fees but never charges, collects or holds money.
- Saves your demo state in this browser’s local storage. Use “Reset demo” to clear it.
